The Executive Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele (BSA), has explained why stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imota support and will continue to support the incumbent representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, in the forthcoming party primaries of the ruling party.

Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele explained that since the party did not consider Ikorodu for the Executive Governorship position in Lagos State, a post which many have tipped the three – term lawmaker for, that he should go back to the House of Representatives and continue to represent his people.

While also stating that because the party in Imota does not support Hon. Abdulkareem Shittu who is also vying for the House of Representatives position does not make him their enemy.

The council chairman who said the federal lawmaker has facilitated many projects in Imota LCDA and will still facilitate more, declared the support of the Imota APC members in Imota during the official declaration by Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) for second term as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II.

“We have been clamouring for the governorship position of the state but the leaders have decided to go elsewhere and when it’s our time, we will all witness it.

“Our son, Babajimi Benson is going back to the House of Representatives and I want to explain something to you all that because we are not supporting Shittu doesn’t make him our enemy. He only just moved into our party from the PDP,” the council chairman said.

He listed some of the projects that Rep. Benson has done in Imota and others that he has also promised to do to emphasise why Imota residents prefer him.

“I want you to know that without Jimi Benson, we won’t have a general hospital here in Imota, without him we would not have had this ICT.

“Babajimi Benson will continue to do roads for us. He’s going to do the one at Ori Okuta and he will do it very soon. He is also going to do the road from Igbo Okuta down to Oke Igbo and from Oke Igbo down to that swamp. He has asked me to clear the bush and the Baale has taken the personnel there.

“If we are to continue to mention the achievements of JB, we won’t leave here today.”

Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele also revealed that Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, has gotten approval to cite the regional market in Imota.

“Hon AMA is a good person and he has a lot of projects he wants to bring here. He has gotten the approval for the regional market and the contractor will start work soon.

“I always say we don’t have enough revenue but with the regional market, I can say we will have revenue than Igbogbo/Baiyeku because if we have the regional market, Igbogbo won’t be able to have the revenue we will have here and it was AMA that facilitated it,” he added.

At the declaration by AMA, the Justice Forum leaders and members unanimously adopted Rep. Babajimi Benson for fourth term as the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Hon.AMA for second term as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II.

Also, President Bola Tinubu was adopted for a second term, and Sen. Tokunbo Abiru as well was cleared for another term while Dr Obafemi Hamzat also secured support for election as the party’s governorship candidate.
